Our Trustees

Our Trustees, who are all volunteers, put their time, energy and passion into leading the City of Sanctuary to ensure that it grows successfully in the right direction, on stable foundations and with true purpose.   This means making time to come together regularly to ensure that all projects under the umbrella of the City of Sanctuary are reviewed, new initiatives discussed, and action taken, as well as providing appropriate support, guidance and resources.

The combined knowledge, talent and compassion of the Trustees of City of Sanctuary, and the volunteers involved in the various projects helps build and shape Lancaster and Morecambe’s rich and diverse community.  Passion led us all here.

How long have you been a City of Sanctuary Trustee? What role do you hold within the Trustees?
Lancaster and Morecambe City of Sanctuary has been a registered charity since December 2018.  Before that I was a member of the Steering Group.  So, in all, I have been in both groups for 5 years. I was Chair of the Steering Group and am now Chair of the City of Sanctuary Trustees. I wasn’t on the first Steering Group which was set up when the very first Asylum Seekers arrived in Lancaster in November 2015.
