City of Sanctuary Lancaster and Morecambe is run entirely by volunteers! Our teachers, one to one tutors, support workers, our admin, website and social media team, the individuals who sort and deliver donations, our fundraisers, as well as our Trustees, are all volunteers.
As a team we are hugely passionate about creating culture of welcome in Lancaster and Morecambe through social projects, English classes and awareness raising.
Some of our partners’ projects are supported by small grants from charity and local authority funders, however the bulk of the support delivered by City of Sanctuary is funded entirely by the generosity of people who make regular or one off donations to us.
Some of the fantastic things your donations have paid for are:
- Welcome packs including socks, underwear, SIM cards and stationery
- Small grants towards family reunions
- Access to wifi
- Equipment for educational courses
- Travel to relatives for Christmas
- Scarves and warm winter clothing
- Football boots
