URGENT APPEAL to fund Lancaster & Morecambe City of Sanctuary Family Learning Project; providing activity packs for families and tutor expenses incl online platform subscription.
LOCKED UP TOO LONG
Refugee and Asylum Seeking Families have been incarcerated in their homes in a foreign land for three months without being able to access the activities which are usually provided by Lancaster and Morecambe City of Sanctuary and its partners.
These restrictions are set to continue in some form especially for families who have a member who has to be shielded due to health conditions. Meeting other families for picnics, walks or watching their children play together isn’t going to happen any time soon so the isolation continues.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
Lancaster and Morecambe City of Sanctuary is proposing to give our families the opportunity to meet twice a week online to have fun together. Jordan, our experienced and enthusiastic tutor, will supply the stories, games, songs and crafts focused on three to eight year olds, their parents and other siblings that want to join in.
The plans are in place, the invitations are written and we are ready to start this month (June) running twice weekly until the end of August. We need to raise £2,000.
